Our Mission

Assistant Coach Training

img

The Assistant Coach Training (ACT) was launched in 2006 to provide more localized Life Skills training to Chapters who wanted to educate board members and community leaders about The First Tee approach to positive youth development, as well as train staff and volunteers to assist with coaching. The program has educated and trained over 1,000 people over the last three years.

The Assistant Coach Training eLearning Course will be released in 2011, allowing Chapters to access the training 24-7. The online training will provide an extensive overview of The First Tee positive youth development program and tips for beginning coaches to assist The First Tee Coaches with the delivery of Life Skills Education at their Chapter. It will take the home office one year to create and beta test the eLearning training with the hopes of generating the finest product we can provide the network. Given the required development time and program enhancements there will be no in-person Assistant Coach Trainings in 2010.
