Named Scholarship Descriptions
Named Scholarships are funds received either in honor or memory of someone, or have been donated by individuals or corporations. Most of these scholarships are worth $2,500 per year and are renewable for four years ($10,000 total) assuming the student continues to meet the school’s criteria for merit scholarships. The funds are paid directly to the institution of the recipient’s choice. |

Scholarship Advisory Committee
The Scholarship Advisory Committee carefully reviews and assesses the information submitted in all applications. In early December, The First Tee notifies designated Scholars of their decision and the committee will forward the names of all designated Scholars to partner institutions. The financial aid offices of the partner institutions will have final authority on the selection of the Leadership Scholarship recipients. Once a student is selected as a Leadership Scholarship recipient, a financial aid officer will thereafter be assigned to work directly with the applicant to help them locate sources of aid, such as grants and other scholarships. |
