The First Tee

Our Mission

Department of Defense

Program Overview

Through a congressional appropriation, The First Tee will provide life skills education and character development to children of men and women of the United States Armed Forces. The First Tee will be able to accomplish this by using a three-pronged impact approach: 1: The Chapter based “Military Affiliate Program” on domestic installations; 2: The First Tee Nine Core Values Program and; 3: The First Tee Program for Children of Guardsmen and Reservists.

1: Domestic Installations

The Military Affiliate Program will bring The First Tee Life Skills Experience to 100 installations in the United States from 2009-2012. This program will be delivered by The First Tee Chapters located within close proximity to the installation.

2: Nine Core Values Program

The First Tee will provide curriculum, equipment and training to 20 overseas installations located in Spain, Germany, Guam, Japan, South Korea, Cuba, Italy and Puerto Rico. The overseas program will allow Morale, Welfare and Recreation personnel the ability to implement our life skills based activities at any time and at any location on the installation.

3: National Guardsmen & Reservists

Children of geographically separated Guardsmen and Reservists will be able to attend programs at a Chapter of The First Tee in their community at no charge. The First Tee has developed an online resource for Guardsmen and Reservists to download a coupon to use when registering their children at the Chapter.
