Jack Nicklaus and The First Tee
Jack Nicklaus is an active supporter The First Tee, a positive youth development program that teaches young people of all backgrounds valuable life skills through the game of golf. As a Trustee of the nonprofit organization, Mr. Nicklaus attends local Chapter events and serves nationally as co-chairman of The First Tee More Than a Game fund-raising campaign. Passionate about the opportunity for young people to learn life lessons by playing the game, he spoke before Congress on Capitol Hill in 2006 to testify about the value of teaching character education. “At a time when we need to do everything we can to promote positive values in our children, particularly thinking beyond themselves and caring for others, The First Tee has adopted that mission and is doing an excellent job,” said Nicklaus.
